Spring
Spring Maintenance gives you the opportunity to revive the landscape after the long winter. After checking for any winter damage, we refresh garden beds by preparing the soil with compost, pruning early-blooming shrubs to encourage healthy growth and trimming ornamental plants that were left for winter interest.
Summer
Summer in Salt Lake City can mean hot and dry weather, so we emphasize watering efficiency and proactive maintenance. We inspect and adjust irrigation systems, ensuring your plants stay hydrated without waste. This insures our ability to control weeds while deadheading flowers, and checking for pest or disease issues. Mulching is often added to retain soil moisture and weed prevention.
Fall
Fall cleanup is an essential step in promoting a healthy, resilient landscape year-round. By removing fallen leaves, dead branches, and debris, we prevent the buildup of mold, pests, and diseases that can overwinter and cause issues in spring. Clearing garden beds and lawns also allows sunlight and air to reach the soil, which supports root health and soil vitality. Keeping some leaves for habitat can benefit insects and pollinators throughout the winter.
Winter
Winter maintenance can take shape in the form of removing and storing any above ground irrigation devices such as backflow preventors and external hosing. I like to leave some perennials and ornamental grasses for winter interest. Winter is a great time to observe, plan and prepare for the next growing season.
